Happy Friday! A gloriously welcome end-of-the-week surprise, Foals have released Collected Reworks Vol. 1. Compromised of remixes of some of the Oxford five-piece’s biggest songs, the anthology features reworks from Hot Chip, RÜFÜS DU SOUL, Purple Disco Machine, and others.
In a statement on Instagram, the band shared:
“The album features our favourite remixes - some old, some new - from across our catalogue. A nice lil anthology for the midnight marauders out there… Volumes II & III are coming later this Summer. Hold on to yr butts.”
Remixed tracks include ‘Olympic Airways’, ‘In Degrees’, ‘Late Night’, ‘Into The Surf’, and, of course, the heavily cited ‘My Number’. Even better, three remixes of ‘Spanish Sahara’ and two of ‘Mountain At My Gates’ feature.
This latest venture follows the 2019 release of Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost Pt. 1 (Remixes), which features remixes from George Fitzgerald and Metronomy.
The band have also been sharing transmissions as part of their Foals Broadcasting Corporation series throughout lockdown. Co-produced by Toby L, Co-Founder of Transgressive and Director of Rip Up The Road, it features fresh insights into the band’s work, from ‘Making A Double Album’ to ‘Jimmy’s Hidden World’. These boys have been busy.
Available to stream on all major platforms now, Collected Reworks Vol. 1 will also be released as a limited-edition vinyl set alongside forthcoming Volumes II and III on the 9th of October. Available for pre-order now.
